Guys. Guys, it’s January 9th and I already got my copy of The Fault In Our Stars.
And guys. Guys, look.
Not only did I get a green authentic J-scribble, but I got a Hanklerfish. I got a purple Hanklerfish. I’m not sure exactly how rare Hanklerfish are statistically - is there a place where nerdfighters can find the statistical rarity of colors/Hanklerfish/Yetis and such? - but I know they’re rare enough for my internal fangirling to be (somewhat) justified.
I’m from a town that’s so rural* that our nearest ”mall” contains less than 15 actual stores because they can’t make enough money here and the nearest probable place for a theoretical nerdfightastic gathering would be three to five miles south.
And I got a Hanklerfish’d TFiOS.
*I know that geography is pretty much irrelevant when preorders were being shipped everywhere, but still.

betotallysketch:

I’ve been expecting a package (a Mumford and Sons poster my best friend had shipped to my house for Christmas), so I didn’t think much about it when my dad walked in and handed me a box. Upon seeing that it was John Green’s mistakenly shipped The Fault in Our Stars, I promptly-to use a modern phrase-“lost my shit”. There was a great deal of running around my house and screaming uncontrollably. I opened it once to check out John’s signature (and take this picture of said signature), then immediately closed it. Then, I put it up on my shelf with my other John Green books, where it will stay until January 10th—you know, the day it was supposed to be shipped.

Anonymous asked: My copy of TFIOS arrived and it is not signed. The nearest nerdfighter gathering to my house is about two hours away and it sold out a couple of weeks ago anyway. Is there any way to fix this situation?

I am not John - he just knows of this Tumblr and has been promoting it, so I’m not 100% sure. I know before he has mentioned bringing your copy to a bookstore and potentially swapping it out for another. Or perhaps you could email his publisher.

I will publish this in case John has any input.
